1- My purchasing and buying habits are critical in the maintenance phase.
2- I love less things now, but will struggle with holiday sales creeping up on us, so I must have a strategy or purpose when I purchase.

This made me feel a little better about several recent purchases i have made on facebook market place. Its been a pain in the but and required a ton of driving. And i was guilt tripping about zearching for and buying more things to bring into my tiny home. But i do feel good about buying secondhand, geting cheap deals and finding useful peices that already have dents and dings because this actually counters out my obsessive compulsive personality disorder. These thi gs are not perfect looking but that helps me to not worry and stress over keeping them in mint condition. This is a log cabin and i have a playful preschooler. Its ok for things to be rustic or shabby chic. I dont have a closet so i found a small three drawer nightstand for my socks, bras and underwear. Yes its another peice of furniture but its unique and carved and now i dont have to have my unders on display anymore. I had some dead spa e between tbe bed and window, which i didnt want to block view of. So i just picked up a wicker chest w a solid wood lid that now houses seasonal clothing while not in use and the top serves to hold 2 crates of library books that are close at hand for enjoying in bed.
I wanted minimal enviroment w open space but thats just not going to be possible in a one roon cabin that has zero storage. Im opening up to accepti g that this space can still be soothing and cozy even if it is jammed pack. I have a lot of textures and patterns going on but ive limited the colors to greans and creams and wood tones.

I admire that you love camping. I tried, just don't love it. I do know that good gear makes for a better experience though so the cooler seems like a win. We bought an entire Class C RV to try and love camping if you want to talk about impulse purchases that I don't recommend. LOL

Thanks for sharing this Becky - I feel that this process is about unlearning what we've been told we need/should have in our homes & re educating our brain to really question whether we actually need it or even want that thing. As time goes on I find myself going to pick something up & then stopping & reevaluating whether it's right for what I think I want/need or if I need it at all, it saves so much more money & then time when you don't have to declutter it later 😉❤️
