Yep fully agree with the 50% rule.

I was ridiculously lucky and I know this is gonna sound insane but it's thanks to catching COVID that I caught mine super early and saved all my hair down to the last follicle.

Basically, I got telogen effluvium in the months after catching COVID and getting a fever of 40+ Celsius. It was a massive shock to my system and my hair suffered. I was losing huge clumps of hair after every shower, it was terrifying.

I went to a trichologist to figure out what was happening, she diagnosed me with telogen effluvium and also said I had really early signs of miniaturization on my vertex. It was so early stages that it was only visible under the microscope and you couldn't tell by looking even under direct sunlight.

I've been on finastaride since that day and I've basically reversed all the early miniaturization and I've got the condition under control. I don't expect to be losing my hair anytime soon but I still go for check ups occasionally.

This advice is solid. I wish I was more cognizant of this when I was younger. I started balding at 17, and have been able to maintain my Norwood 2 for the 10 years since, but by then it already too late to salvage my temples without a transplant. It still annoys me how early it occurred. If you can get ahead of your hair loss, it is better.

In the last 2 years I have noticed a huge difficulty in growing my hair to the point where right now the sides are way longer than the top... Haven't really noticed huge thinning and for some reason I noticed that the short hairs that shed from my front is thicker in diameter than the longer hairs I shed. Propably will check another dermatologist, since the last one I checked with prescribed treatment for androgenic alopecia. Just wanted to share, because I am annoyed that it doesn't look like normal MPB, yet I can't find what my problem is. I wish good luck and a great day to anyone who reads!

That is a solid advice, it helped me to get rid of that stress of uncertainty, that was bothering me for months. I appointed a visit with a trychologist just now. Thanks man.

Thanks for this. I got a request. Can u please do an updated video of your shower routine and how you detail your hair etc.?

Great and informative video, but man.. if there is even a question, go see a professional! So many guys asking strangers on the internet instead of just booking an appointment with those that can definitively tell them.

ive seen videos from MPMD and haircafe suggesting that taking finasteride before seeing any balding is the best option

ngl, i like my hair a lot, i have long hair with Norwood 2-3, but prefer to get bald than taking meds for the rest of my life.

Hey trav, I have a windows peak, I’m still in my teen years, but the sides of my head have thin hairs mixed with baby hairs(like Ryan Reynolds or David Beckham but with baby hair+thin hair in that area), if I pull it back it looks like if their is no hair due to its thinness and the hairs over it are kinda covering it, I am not saying that their is no hair on the sides of the windows peak but just really thin and spread out on that area, am I just being paranoid or should I just leave it, (by the way, I have short hair and apply shampoo everyday) Thanks🤝🏻

I'm 19, and have noticed changes in the front of my hairline. Like it is straight and my temples are okay, but it is like a mini M-letter in the front. Should I be concerned

Realistically, how easy should this be to spot? I can look through 100 hairs and maybe find one or two that seem they may be miniaturized. Cant be sure though. Should it be more obvious than this?

My hair is INSANELY FINE, so i never noticed if any was getting thinner. Now I am sure of it but only because my forehead looks different, sadly. Next Saturday I booked an appointment to a specialized dermatologist in my city. I think it's too late anyways but I'll see if I can do anything.

My hair seems to still be thick, but the temples go back on both sides, and my hairline is uneven. There are no dermotologists in my area, so what should i do? There are regular doctors in the area, would it be worth going to them despite the lack of dermotologists?
