macOS Big Sur Errors! Installation Failed: "An Error Occurred While Installing the Selected Updates

Well, Big Sur has not gone down as a successful release. Looks like the majority of people out there are getting an error that says ... Installation Failed: "An Error Occurred While Installing the Selected Updates when trying to install the macOS Big Sur update. I even tried on 3 different machines, all getting the same error message. But it does look like its a system-wide issue and many people are getting the same error message. So sit tight and hopefully this will get fixed soon. If you haven't started the update I would hold off until things get fixed. We are unsure if the error "Installation Failed: "An Error Occurred While Installing the Selected Updates" is causing any other issues, but many of us are also experiencing complete system slowdown! Which is definitely not good.

It took forever to start the download process. When it finally start downloading, it failed after about 2 GB download.

Thx man just updateed the last update for Catalina and when trying to update to Big Sur was getting that error thx for heads up thought I did something wrong had back up with time machine and thought I did something wrong glad I clicked on ur video🙏👍

Hej I updated yesterday and I am in Mac OS update assistant it stuck here. It is giving me an option to restart it or start up disk or restart the computer in target disk mode. I would prefer not to do update and just go back:( So I do not lose any data:( anybody can advise?

For me, after a lengthly download it failed upon installation. Got caught in a boot cycle - and now defaults to recovery mode without me prompting it to. Wasn't able to restore from time machine, reinstall any OS, or even recognize a disk. I'm not tech-savy enough to know exactly how F'ed I am - but I'm def feeling something and I do not consent.

Successfully downloaded big sur, problem now is i can't install, not enough space. Looks like if you have a 128 gb mac, there is not enough space.
