It’s a bloody mess. Still no go on Catalina. It finally downloads but stuck at 12.18 GB. Download speed is fast.

Apparently the latest Catalina update has processes that take a long time so it slows down the system and causes the Big Sur download error. However, when these processes are finished (3 hours in my case) the system flows and the error is solved allowing the download of Big Sur. It's just waiting.

Mine says “an error occurred while applying the software update” and nothing is working. I
I can’t even get my Mac back to normal. It will just try to restart the update when I’d I try to turn it off or restart my iMac. Then it will just go back to the updating, keep going till it says about 22 min left on it, then say the same thing which is “an error occurred while applying the software update” any fix?

Helloo, in my IMac starts the installation and after a half minute says “connection lost”, could somebody help me pleasee?😩

Dude mine's just stucked on 12.18 GB and mind you!! It's the finished download already!! But then i refreshed it and then it got stucked on 8.04 GB :( could somebody help me out ive been trying to download this update since yesterday night

Does it matter if I’m high Sierra I can’t even upgrade to Catalina either only Big Sur every time I start the update it goes for a little then just disappears

I tried everything posted on internet, all kind of keys combinations (only left to try hitting all the keys at once), erasing everything, fresh install, online download, from a bootable usb, reset NVRam, nothing let me update, even I can't go from mojave to catalina on my macbook air from 2014, a week waste of trying. Best I can do is just put this laptop in fire to avoid giving this headache to another people. Never ever again want to touch something from apple.

Yes, I have this problem now when I update big sur, I restart my mini apple again and again, Iit won’t work . The mouse cursor is frozen, I can not do anything . Can you help ?

Hello, please help I am desperate. I just installed Big Sur and tried everything, but my Mac is stuck on a loop of restarting and won’t get passed my login account, and using Recovery mode doesn’t work either. Please help!!

It says 12.40 GB out of 12.40 GB but it won’t finish installing. Does anybody know what to do? It hasn’t shown me any error messages at all it’s just stuck at 12.4 GB.

I’m attempting to update to Big Sur I found a security up date I diddnt have installed make sure your Mac is 100% up to date it might say it is but if you don’t click more info you won’t know

Hey, my 2014 MBP needed repairing. Apple installed Big Sur 11.1 on it. last week on Dec 16th. Can I copy 11.1 on a usb device and install it on my new Air M1 (11.0) as a faster was rather than waiting for the server to be fixed?
