That tip about putting nuts on salad/oatmeal is a good one. Especially because I tend to overeat nuts.

I’m 50 yrs old, eat a WFPB diet with no oil, and use soy milk in my morning oats, as well as eat tofu in my stir fry a couple times a week. Ive been eating this way for over 4 years now. I’ve never had a hot flash!

I can honestly say that I was still sneaking a little dairy into my diet when I started having hot flashes. This was an immediate incentive to recommit to whole food plant based and I definitely noticed a difference.

Yes, on keto my ldl went up and I ended up with fatty liver. Thankfully, I have been whole food plant- based since November of 2022 and doing great, losing weight and hope to have my blood tested soon!

Glad he addressed diabetes and fat. Key to plant based diet if you are prediabetic or diabetic is not to over eat carbs. Don’t eat too much white bread rice or processed carbs. Avoid nuts oils and avocados if you’re struggling with weight. eat more salads and fresh fruits and veggies. Keep track of BMI.

I don’t have a problem with nuts, I can control my intake .. I measure 1/2 an ounce every day on a scale and put them on my oatmeal or salad like Dr. B said, my favorites are pecans and walnuts.

Would you ask Dr. Barnard to explain Calorie Density and how we can use that to plan our meals more effectively to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight, please?

Thank you for this wonderful show. I find that my clients crave fatty foods if they do not eat enough carbohydrates (ideally in the form of fruit) throughout the day. So that might be a good tipp to anyone who is struggling with that.
Eat more fruit. At least 1 meal per day (breakfast or lunch), that is just fruit.

Can you please elaborate more on why blood sugar levels increase when switching to a vegan diet. Should diabetics tweak their vegan regimen in the beginning such as reducing sugar intake from fruits? Thank you so much.

I didn't like Chuck at first.
But, he's actually pretty good at his job.
Love you, buddy.
