That story of the mother who gave up her life for her son to be born instead of aborting him and getting Chemo is an incredible mother. It is truly sad that she couldn't have found an alternative-health route.

AS someone with an extremely abusive, selfish, and narcissistic mother, I feel saddened for this man who couldn't have what seemed to be a truly loving mother who wanted him. I assume she would have given him massive amounts of love, because a mother who would sacrifice herself in such a selfless way, I don't see her being selfish as a mother.

That mother didn't deserve that and the son is already 18+ now? That's even more All the while the father has to hold onto this pain of the fact he lost his wife, even though he got a blessing of a child from it. It doesn't seem like he blames his son though, as he's holding it a secret and said that "she saved him at her expense." The wife could have lost her life anyways, so he most likely does take it as a blessing that he was able to get at least 1 offspring from his beloved wife.

What sacrifice.... What love. It's so moving. I believe we don't see so much love and kindness these days with people towards their children.

20. I would've understood and possibly loved my dad even more if I was Rie. It's freaking beautiful.

When I was little my mom got really annoyed with me and picked me up to put me in my playroom so she could be at peace. But she was so mad that she wasn’t careful and accidentally hit me head agains the doorframe really hard. I was fine but I have a little scar from it. I never knew it was a scar tho so during a conversation I casually said „Yes, and lo and behold, there's this little dent on my eyebrow. I don't even know what it is or where it came from."
And my mom spilled the tea, she was very embarrassed and felt so guilty that she was so careless with me that she kept it a secret from everyone.

Story about( I assume) Ukrainian youth was very sad one.
As someone who used to live here it pains me to see what happened with this country after two revolutions and civil war.

Story 10 is awful. I'm a donor child. My mother told me when I was 18. However I'd already known. When I was in the process of applying for technical highschools when I was 14, I needed to go through my mother's safe to find my birth certificate and social security card. In there I had found a folder with my name on it. So I looked through it. Behold I found essentially my family tree and my real blood related father. My father I grew up with is still my father though. I've never contacted my biological side. I had a rough childhood. It's a long story, so I'll spare you that. But I never had a good relationship with my stepmother. One day when I was about 16, I asked my dad, "Why doesn't my step mom like me?" He replied, "It's because you look so much like your mother." And I do look a lot like my mother. My father is over 6'2 stocky, and I'm 5'9 slender. My father has a widow's peak, and my hairline is straight. My father is sterile because he had hotchkin's limphoma when he was a young adult. When my mother told me the truth when I was 18, I was upset it had taken them so long to come out and tell me. I still love my parents. But I was ashamed that it took them so long to tell me. It created a distrust. My father still doesn't know that I know that I'm a donor child. The quote my father said is important too. What he really meant to say was, "Because you're the representation of my previous relationship. Your step mother sees you as an obligation because you're not related to us. She doesn't see you as family." During covid 2020 (also when I was 20), I moved out of both of my parents houses and have been on my own since. I've never been happier. I wish my dad would say it though. I wish he'd swallow his pride and say that I'm a donor child. But then again, part of me wonders; does he even know I'm a donor child? And that's why I've never told him I know. If you're a parent of a donor child, please tell them. They may be mad at you for a day. But coming clean on the true origin of their life is so much more important than you could possibly comprehend. Those who are unable to abandon anything will fail to bring about any change.
