People need to stop comparing Maddie’s trauma to the other girls. She being a favorite was not her fault, she was villainized by the film crew and the audience, people called her brat when she was 9 for things she didn't even want to say.

Saying that ‘if that's traumatizing, just imagine what the others went through’ is invalidating Maddie’s own trauma and that's not okay.

Her own teacher manipulated her, turned her friends against her, putting her on a pedestal and not accepting anything less than perfection and she had to stand there and listen to the other moms argue about her, complain and say she shouldn't have won. People are being unfair to Maddie. She was just a kid.

maddie had just as much trauma as everyone else just in a different way, everyone else was told they weren’t good enough and they needed to be like maddie and they would never be good enough for abby while maddie was always told you’re my only good student i’m relying on you, we know you’ll win bc ur maddie, we need to win this so i’m giving maddie a solo. i’m not saying maddie was the best dancer or anything but abby made her carry the whole team on her back, which can’t have been easy.

Melissa was a true dance mom. All business from before Maddy knew what her choices were. This was her moms dream for her.

I f Maddie hadn’t been on dance moms Sia would have never happened. I think Maddie had a lot of pressure but Chloe, Nia, and Paige were out right abused. I don’t care if it was editing or not Abby said what she said to those girls. It got worse as each season progressed. I have read that abby had a genuine affection for Nia and you do see it occasionally.
I think Melissa liked all the attention and then something bigger came along for Maddie. Kenzie wasn’t told until the group was, so I wonder if it was really a decision she would have made. Was she ready to move on. She was always second to Maddie.
I’m glad Maddie feels like her mom can support her.
Melissa said she’d do anything to make Maddie a star. She did. That anything included Maddie’s mental health.

Abby and Melissa put a lot of pressure on her to be PERFECT. They expected more from her. Whereas the moms sometimes were not delighted that Abby gave more attention to Maddie than to their children so they stirred up drama and fights. So obviously the toxicity which the producers put were too much for everyone to handle that is why she and none of the other girls miss dancing.

I have s panic disorder. Panic attacks are constant. It's didn't start consistently until late teens. It's hell. I cant imagine being a little kid and having one. And she was the only kid Abby was nice to. Imagine how the other kids felt.

Yall the parents aren’t to blame. Abby made something where the parents had to sign a contract and if the parents left they would have to pay $100, 000. The parents hated Abby. If anything it’s the producers and Abby’s fault of the trauma they have to go through. Paige sued ABBY for a reason.
