I used to do that “pretend to be asleep so dad will carry me” thing too lmao. Eventually I grew out of it, but not because my dad figured out I was pretending. We just stopped coming home so late and usually I would forget it was an option when I got bigger.

I re-remembered that comfort when I got my wisdom teeth removed at 20, and got carried inside my house by dad after coming back from the dentist all woozy on painkillers. I honestly didn’t expect him to do it, even in my foggy state of mind, but it was such a lovely dose of nostalgia.

Honestly just came here to put some wholesome into this comment section. Have a nice day/night everyone!

"There's this sock under the bed." Literally all they needed to say for most people to understand what they

I’m kinda tempted to ask my mom if she knows anything about me that i don’t know she knows but i’m also terrified of her knowing the really embarrassing stuff

That one of the dad figuring out his kid was faking being asleep was food for my soul

I love how like half of these are normal kid stuff and some are more "adult"

The "parents read my diary/poetry/etc" Was the exact thought that made me consciously choose to write any personal thoughts in my diary, and then later poetry and fan fiction in a different language than my first language. I've been learning English since i was 6, neither of my parents speaks it, so any of my personal writing is safe because even if one of them thinks to go through a diary or through my phone they won't understand any of it.

I pretended to be colorblind for a whole year when I was seven. My parents even bought me glasses. Turns out they knew I wasn’t and were messing with me the whole time

If my parents found out something as tiny an issue as me smuggling peanuts into my room while pulling all-nighters, I'd be dead meat

14:31 I find this funny because I have my door locked because my family doesnt knock and always tries to get into my room whenever they want to talk to me, and my dad constantly makes the joke "Are you doing something in there you dont want us to know about?" No, dad, I'm sick of you breaking into my room when you want to talk to me

This video made my day a living hell since it made me remember when my parent looked at my browser history when I was 8.

When I was younger, my parents would go out to eat most Saturdays after church. While they were at dinner, my siblings and I would play on the Wii in their bedroom. When we heard the garage door open, we would always hurry to go back to the main menu, eject the disk and put it away, turn off the TV, and put the input back to the AT&T cable one. I'm wondering if they knew we were playing the Wii. Don't exactly know how, but I just have a feeling.

When I was 16-18 I told my dad that when I was little (5-6) I used to wake up really early and sometimes would pretend to go to sleep before they would come and get me for the morning. He was so shocked he called my mom and was like "did you know about this?!?!" They were both genuinely unaware and shocked that they somehow didn't know.

I know strict controlling parents can be super toxic, but they motivate you to learn how to get away with things in secret, and that's been a very useful skill in life. My parents knew a lot of what I did but at one point they were slowly falling behind and only learned about half of the shit I did because I was willing to share it with them later once they were more chill people.

The pretending to be asleep lolol one time when I 6 years old I genuinely fell asleep on history class (sitting right in front of the teacher). I remember that, seconds before I lost conscience, a kid tried to wake me up, but my teacher said "no, let her be. It's fine". I was very happy to hear that it was fine, and then fell asleep right after (I had nightmares/hallucinations (?) every night until morning, so I was always sleepy and she knew). After a while, I woke up on my mom's arms, carrying me and my bag on the middle of the way to our home. I imediately started to faking my previously genuine sleep until home, when I "woke up" and smiled proudly "I was faking! Got'cha!". It's not a great story, but it's a wholesome memory I have with my mother

My entire family including me know for sure my oldest Brother is Bisexual, he doesn't know we know, none of us brothers care about him being Bi, not because we love him all the same... but because all 5 of us brothers hate each other for totally different reasons, as far as we're concerned sexual orientation isn't a real reason to hate someone.

"Third kid, 7, can jailbreak devices, so passwords really don't mean crap to her." I was gonna call cap but then I was thinking about my nieces and nephews and I was like... Goddamn some of them can too and they're like 8. Kids are getting so damn proficient with devices these days it's crazy 😅
