IMPORTANT! Copy your media from your card to your computer BEFORE editing in Premiere Pro.

Colin will show you how to easily import video right from your Compact Flash card directly into the Premiere Pro Timeline! You'll also learn why the Media Browser is the best way to bring in footage and why you should stay away from the Import command.

I know I'm late to the party, but you make some good tutorials sir. No bloating content, just pure educational video. I hope "algorhytm" finally found you, my good sir.

WOW! Was it really that easy??? I've been trying to use avi files in premiere for as long as I've been using premiere ...watched so many tutorials ...downloaded all types of virus-infected conversion freeware ...and this is all it takes to do it. THANK YOU!

I hope you're glad to find out this vid is still making a positive impact three years after it was uploaded. Here's you another well-earned "LIKED and SUBSCRIBED"!

The last half of this video would make for a great video. Would love to see a list of tools use in the
Description. I have added a playlist and a list of your videos so as to have my viewers find your
videos which are Amazingly helpful.

I still can't figure out why you have only 6, 000+ views?? You produce excellent tuts and most of them got less than 10k views. Anyway, I always love your videos. Thank you Thank you Thank you.

Hey Colin, I visited your site after Knoptop [another youtube channel] recommended you. I'm currently making the switch to Premiere CC after years on FCP 7, and your videos are a huge help in getting me oriented and up to speed. Thanks so much for your easy to understand and no-nonsense approach.
cheers!

Thanks for the video, very helpful!! I'm using a Canon XA40 camcorder, do I need to change any settings in Adobe Premier? I believe it defaults to DSLR? I'm new at Adobe Premier Pro, so your videos are great for me.

Hi Colin, Thanks for the tutorials! I've been editing on Final cut pro X for many years and just tried to switch over to Adobe. I'm having a problem importing: When I upload from my SD card into adobe (the way you show), Adobe saves the footage to my SD card as opposed to my external HD, where I have the project saved. So when I eject my SD card, the footage in adobe is unlinked. How can I save the footage that I import into my external HD instead of my SD card?

Where do the files live? As in what folder are they put into? When I am done with the project and I want to archive the project and the clips - where can I get them from?
