How to properly import audio and video to Premiere Pro

WAY to many hours wasted not being able to get clips into Premiere. In this video I go through the steps you should use to import ALL your content to Premiere.

Steps:
1. Locate your footage in the Media Browser.
2. Double click on the clip and it opens it up in a isolated window.
2a. If you want both audio and video of the clip, drag the BIG display area for both audio/video, the small video icon above the play head for video, and audio icon for just the audio.

THAT IS IT, this should solve 99% of all your problems bringing in footage. I had problems with OBS footage never importing audio/video, making me question if I should become a monk and give away all my technological belongings.

IF YOU STILL HAVE PROBLEMS BRINGING IN.
Are you using MOV File? If so do you have QuickTime installed?? (May cause playback lag issues as file sizes are ji-normous)
Recording with OBS or other software? Save as mp4

The video + the above should make you a professional Premiere Pro user, you will be ready to start teaching others in stadiums

Oh man I ove you dude, thanks so much! Literally spent hours working on this the last few days to no avail.

*Extra Tip* in case anyone has the issue of this eventually not working after adding a few clips; close and re-open Adobe, and you can continue to add clips from the media browser with no issue then! :D

Hi I'm having an issue clicking and dragging a MP3 onto the time line in premiere pro from freesound. Please help? Also getting video clips is difficult from you tube via click and drag? Is there a a way?

Hello Davey! Recently watched and extremely enjoyed your video tutorial! I just got a Sony XDCAM and discovered that I can put my SXS to SD card adapter directly into my card reader on my computer, transfer the files to my capture drive, the files show up as a folder called BRAV! Inside this fold is another folder called CLR! Isidebthis folder are lots of Sub folders containg the actual video files! I have to open each folder individually, Rename the save to a Capture location! Then when I go into Adobe I go into Media Browser, locate the capture drive and the files pop-up into thumbnails! This is too many extra steps and very time consuming!I What is the most effective way to import XDCAM footage into Adobe Premiere! What are your thoughts?

My problem is the same but the difference is that it does not show the video on the importing process instead it shows the audio only thus it only shows the audio only at the timeline as well, Please Help

If anyone has the same problem that I did, where no clips show up despite your knowledge that you put it there, expand the media browser to see the files there. It was tripping me up hard core.

What would you recommend doing for importing iTunes Music over to Premiere Pro? I am unable to Edit>Preferences>import settings>MP3 import. Is there a music converter software you would recommend? I need help ASAP and your videos have been the most helpful with the rest of my issues.

Great video - but did not solve my issue :( double clicking the file still opens *just the audio. The file is a screen recording (.mov)

Okay I didnt have this problem for 3 months since I started using Premiere, and now all of the sudden it doesnt matter what I do, all files I try to import into Premiere even MP4 files, only imports the audio.
There is nothing on the internet that makes this easier to solve, and its always the most specific of all issues that comes up which makes working on what you're doing that much harder.
