Growing up in the 70s I spent alot of time with my grandparents and all my grandmothers brothers were farmers. I grew up eating a lot of vegetables raw. Then when I became an adult I was told I couldn't eat all these things raw lol. I grew up on raw sweet potatoes!! I am 56 and still do!!

The dip recipe is just the Spinach Dip recipe from the back of the Knorr-Swiss Leek Soup packet.  You could use our fresh Hummus recipe for a great dip as well.

Be wary, some varieties of yams are toxic to eat raw.

LOL, the Yams are the Yellow ones, the sweet potatoes are the ORANGE Ones. You misidentified them.

and why peal the skin most of the vitamins/minerals are in the skin

Great video, but those our both varieties of sweet potatoes. Yams are these big black/brown log looking vegetables that are indigenous to Africa. Cut open, they are white and sticky with a gritty taste.

Im confused. The sweet potatoes i usually are more simular to those yams. They are orange. Why are yours yellow? Do you have different kinds of sweet potatoes?

Interesting, i like it because when eating them raw they have good appearance, when you boil them they are sloppy. Would you advice to eat them raw on a daily basis? (You know since the toxicity issue)
