PS : people on Linux Mint who have a problem in selecting edg ring or selecting edge loop with ALT +left mouse click it's very simple just go to Menu >> system settings >> Windows >> Behavior down in Behavior find Special key to move and resize windows by default it's on ALT turn it Disabled and boom blender works just fine now with ALT.

Followed step by step and it worked! Thank you for this very detailed tutorial for Linux newbies! Usually I install programs in Linux Mint using its Software Manager, but the version which it installing doesn't work on my computer. Had to download 2.83 LTS version archive and installed it as you showed here and everything works great now.

I realize this is an older video, but it still works great. I'm in the process of ditching Windows and Adobe. Thanks for helping me get started.

Where would you suggest to put the extracted Blender folder? In the tutorial you left it on the desktop but is there a better place? Thanks!

Thank you! This is great! More and more software for Linux is using executables, which is cool (no install), and AppImages. However, I still want to be able to see all my software listed in and accessible from the menu list with the appropriate icon. SUBSCRIBED

My Blender always freezes after trying to enter "Sculpting" or any other option. Anyone know a fix for this?

Hello, I have bought a new HP pc (with RTX GPU & Ryzen) without an OS. Should I go with this rather than Windows? I will use the pc for blender, davinci, krita.. Many thanks
