its encouraging to read the comments and see how many young people have managed to quit booze. im only 25 myself and am a horrible alcoholic. i managed to pull off 35 days of sobriety but recently fell off the wagon and went on a five day bender. i stopped drinking now and am in the first 48 of alcohol withdrawal its not fun at all. i just wanted to wish everyone who is attempting to quit as well the best of luck.

Been sober a little over 3 weeks now. I mostly drank beer, about 5-6 pounders a day six days out of a week. I don't know how I got that bad but I'll tell you that I tried to self medicate myself b/c I suffer from anxiety & depression. I recently been dealing w/ really bad dreams & just last night I feel like I was being attacked. I know this is a spiritual thing & that Satan is trying to get me going back to my old ways again & start drinking... God please deliver me from evil & anyone else going through this struggle...

Every time I quit drinking I experience the worst anxiety attacks ever. I mean I know I'm withdrawing but every ache or shake I have I think I'm dying. I've been to hospital couple times these last few months and my blood pressure is always super high and have to give me a IV and valium to calm me down. I know if I don't quit I'm going to die but sometimes it's so hard to even imagine my life without it. Please pray for me!!!!

I'm on day one of this journey. Going on day two. I'm optimistic about this hoping my withdrawal is mild and ends quickly. Been a heavy drinker for ten years or so. I can't wait to be rid of this nasty addiction.

I used to drink very heavily for 4 or 5 days.. then just stop. no weaning myself off it.I done this many many times over a twenty year period. I drank to oblivion.. I consumed so much alcohol I blacked out on every drinking binge. when I was on it enough was never enough.. I hardly slept I just drank n drank.I was ill for few days after it but recovered and looked right as rain. if there's anyone out there who is doing similar then please beware. I'm now in my 40s with nerve damage, digestive problems and all manner of other things.be careful

Your voice is so soothing and in no way preachy or know it all. Just factual and sympathetic. Peace from the UK 🙌🏼

Thanks for the video. Pretty spot on. I actually had to go to the emergency room after two days sober because my blood pressure got so high. Totally right about the diarrhea; worst of my life so stay hydrated! Be honest with friends and let the know what you are going through and you'll feel better!

You are so down to Earth and the information is what a regular person in withdrawal would want to hear. Thanks

I am now 19.5 months sober. Was drinking about a liter of rum EVERY single night (in secrecy of course). If I kept going i wouldve had major health issues by now, definitely legal troubles, and i wouldve lost my family. Towards the end i kept drinking because the withdrawal symptoms were unbearable. Thankfully i found the best doctor after months of searching and he put me on the right meds. For anyone reading this who NEEDS to quit- believe me, you can do it. And the results will be amazing. Recovery is definitely a lot of ups and downs, and you will do a lot of self reflection of your past. Key is- to let yourself 'forgive' yourself, realize how you feel right now in sober living, and the promise of the future. Godspeed to all.

wow, it's amazing to read these comments and realise that all the things I've been experiencing are standard. I'm super freaked out at the whole high blood pressure thing, never even heard about it before, then before you know it I'm in hospital thinking I'm having a heart attack, blood pressure 150/120. Day 2 sober now, feels like a damn water balloon being blown up in my chest. Hope I never touch another damn drop. Damn thing's killing me.
