This scene called me out on so many levels. When I was like 12-13 I was obsessed with BTR (Big Time Rush) and I would draw all the guys in my math notebook and what not. My mom even got me all the posters; so yes, I was a fan. 😂 In 2012 I had the absolute pleasure to meet ALL 5 OF THEM at a concert. They were the SWEETEST ever. Carlos even gave me a hug. ❤

This movie had no right to call me out so much. When I was 13 I was obsessed with One Direction and I had all their albums and I would draw them all the time and I would get fanbooks where you could write yourself into the story. Yep, I was a hard-core fan😅 I also had t-shirts, a bag, a lunchbox, a water bottle and lots of posters

this scene made some parents upset apparently. I really really don't see why as it seems perfectly sweet and it's normal for preteens/teenagers to go through this period of developing attraction for others. despite being a guy I was also like this, drawing doodles of girls i had crushes on in wholesome romantic situations. I've never seen this full movie but it seems like a much needed film for girls or people who were raised as girls, helping their experiences feel more normalized and less weird and alien and "adult". It's ironic that parents keep getting upset about "der gay agenda" being pushed down people's throats and then they get upset about this. Like make up your mind boomers do you want disney's cartoons to turn your kids straight or gay? This scene by your logic would turn them straight and isn't that a good thing to you? isn't this what yall wanted? lol anyways this movie seems cute and it may have some flaws but I get the feeling most of the hate for this film comes from sexism and racism and cringe culture.
