Disney and Pixar’s “Turning Red” introduces Mei Lee (voice of Rosalie Chiang), a confident, dorky 13-year-old torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. Her protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming (voice of Sandra Oh), is never far from her daughter—an unfortunate reality for the teenager. And as if changes to her interests, relationships and body weren’t enough, whenever she gets too excited (which is practically ALWAYS), she “poofs” into a giant red panda! Directed by Academy Award® winner Domee Shi (Pixar short “Bao”) and produced by Lindsey Collins, Turning Red releases on March 11, 2022.

For those of you who didn't already know, 4*Town is a homage to late 90s and early 2000s boy bands, like Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Westlife, Take That, and more. One member in particular, Tae-young, is a reference to K-Pop. He looks like Jimin from BTS but mixed with Kang Daniel.

And Aaron T and Aaron Z are like, really talented too.

This scene was just a beautiful chaotic mess to me, and that's a good chaotic! Like the 'he looks like a hobo' and then Mei falls for Devon like right after that and draws him and stuff is just so ironic and funny honestly. Good job on this Disney, Pixar! This movie was super relatable but with it's own little twist, instead of having a panic attack or something Mei turns into a giant red panda when she gets anxious or excited and stuff. And mad props to the fictional boy band you guys created! Like 4 town was a real accurate depiction of early 2000s boy bands and the 3 songs Billie and Finneas wrote were super catchy and well accurate and I can't get it out of my head! Can't wait for the next one!

There are so many movies about teen boys ogling over girls, having a female as the main "prize" in the movie. Never a famous movie from the other side even though girls do the same thing obviously, and this just brings me back to acting stupid with friends and I love it..

The mom wasn’t wrong, she said, why are there called four town when there’s only five of them, you get the idea, I’m so glad that one of the members didn’t turn out to be like Erensto who was kicked out the band years ago and returned for revenge only for Mei and her friends to stop him. I’m glad they went with the idea they actually did! :) 😊
