I watched this video at 37 weeks and then decided to try out the techniques on some random pains I was having a week later. Turns out they were actually contractions, and breathing through them like this actually helped me labor at home to 7cm!

💗 Tip for all of these techniques: Rather than blowing out with an O shape of the lips – relax the mouth open like a soft Ahhh... (similar to a sigh of relief.)
The pelvic floor and mouth are connected and mirror each other – so when you close your mouth or purse your lips into an O (like blowing out a candle) that automatically creates a similar contraction of the pelvic floor. Whereas, when you relax your jaw completely and exhale with an Ahhh (can be audible or silent), that automatically relaxes the pelvic floor and creates a softening and widening sensation that allows for a much easier passage of your baby without tearing. 💗💗💗

Watched your video last night while having contractions and followed your breathing techniques and when I finally decided to go to the hospital I was 6cm dilated I was so proud and then had baby 3 hrs later with ease. Thank you so much for your wisdom.

I used Bradley for my 9th baby and had NO PAIN and was 9cm before going to the hospital! I could have stayed home. This time doing the same. Breath is life. Breath is health. Breath is connection to spirit. Breath is truly everything!

I did the breath down for my whole labor..it works! Very short labor with both my kids. Inhale deeply, exhale deeply and feel that little push while you are exhaling

I’m so glad I watched this to remind me that I needed to practice. I started practicing my breathing every time I got a Braxton Hicks and it helped me to breathe by second nature when I was finally in labour.
The nurses were surprised that I was able to stay so calm.
I noticed myself having a few times where I was starting to lose it and I’d start my breathing again and it immediately brought me back to a calmer state. I managed to do the whole thing without an epidural which is something I’d really wanted for my labour

My first labor was so overwhelming. I wasn’t nearly as prepared as I thought. I want to be more in control this next time. This make a lot of sense and is easy to listen to.

Just gave birth last week and breathing is what really got me through. My nurse coached me through the Bradley method when contractions hit hard. Because of her and my husband I was able to successfully go without an epidural! Thanks Sara for all your videos, I have been binge watching them my whole pregnancy 😊

Update: I watched this video when I was 37 weeks pregnant I believe and at 39 weeks I was induced. It wasn’t any cause, I was healthy but just tired of being pregnant lol. Although it was my first time ever being pregnant, I can saying watching this video helped a lot and I’m glad I came across this page because I learned a lot which helped me have a successful delivery as well as prayer. Now I have a beautiful baby girl whose currently 2 months!!

Just had my baby and used the breathing techniques. Baby was out in 5 hours, and i kept calm, cool and collected until i got to 9 and 10cm. Although i had to moan out loud some at end, i atill breathed through it and pushed out my 9lb baby with no tearing.
