I'm so nervous but i decided to go by myself this may. Thisll will be my first solo adventure ever outside my home country. I'm scared but I'm excited

Solo travel, well that becomes an imperative if your actually want to go anywhere on your own schedule. In the past I don't know how many times trips with other people fell through and never happened cause stuff happens. It happens even more often, when more people are involved in a trip. Interestingly enough my previous trips to Japan have not been solo, because I was visiting friends who lived in Asia and Japan was an add on destination at my insinuation. My next trip will be solo, because I have goals and interests that I need to accomplish that are not easily shared. The thing I've learned is to just do it, because it will mostly go as you have planned, and when things go awry, you'll inevitably find and experience things you didn't know existed, or needed till you encounter them. Nathan's rules are the basis of a great solo trip to anywhere, but apply doubly to Japan.

I kept getting lost on wrong platforms in train stations and eventually I learned that the best thing to do is “sumimasen, (any station you’re getting to)?” and point to the train you’re about to get on. Everyone was always helpful

Thank you! I leave today for Japan for two weeks! I've been to Japan before but I was with family. This time i am travaling alone in the big cities, small towns and even the country side. I did plan almost everything out and prep but i am super nervous because i have been slacking off on my japanese speaking skills 😢 but none the less, i know the basics and local customs and ive been watching videos so my confidences is boosting up!

Leaving for my solo to Japan very soon, so this is timely. Wholly agree with many of the solo tips; I've had some of the same experiences myself after soloing to England, Spain, Portugal, and Italy in recent years. Planning this trip though has been complicated!

Great Video. Went to Japan once before a few years ago in a guided tour. This year I will be going Solo in end of November to beginning of December. Cant wait to see the autumn colors. I carry a backpack for my camera and drinks/food and will be bringing a big suitcases (mostly for souvenirs 😉). Your other video's have helped me a lot with planning the trip. I prefer solo traveling, that is what I did last time and that is what I’m doing this time, I won’t be lonely because many of the days, I will be with people from Japan who I met and built relationships with. 👍
