Trust when I say a lot of us Brits aren't happy with how our gov has treated our armed forces.

infographics hates the UK, I’ve heard them say better things about the Somali pirates “readiness” compared to Britain 😂

Some economists have projected that both the U.S. and parts of Europe could slip into a recession for a portion of 2023. A global recession, defined as a contraction in annual global per capita income, is more rare because China and emerging markets often grow faster than more developed economies. Essentially the world economy is considered to be in recession if economic growth falls behind population growth.

An embarrassed and disgusted brit here. What our government has done to our armed forces is beyond belief. Our whole army…every active personnel could not even fill our own National football stadium at Wembley! Ridiculous.

U.K. military personnel are still very well trained. The problem for the last few decades has been multiple governments either refusing or not being able to increase military spending. Most the kit we have needed replaced about 5-10 years ago. Unfortunately I really don’t see it getting better any time soon. Very embarrassing seeing how politicians treat our once great military

As a brit, I think we have more pressing issues at home like inflation ect, and not funding proxy wars in the middle east.

Worth remembering that the UK has the highest military budget in NATO after the US. NATO is really 1. The US, 2. Europe combined.

Kudos to our allies. Britain (while struggling now) will forever be remembered in history as a leader in this Ukrainian war. Even with small amounts to give, they give. As an American, I'm proud to have you as an allie.

"But getting to a point where Britain's own politicians have said that the country only has enough ammunition for a few days of fighting is downright criminal."

Let's be honest. 'downright criminal' rather sums up the past 13 years of government here in the UK. At the minimum.

Not to mention GCHQ, MI5/MI6, the SAS and SBS, Paratroopers, Gurkhas, Royal Marines, Trident amongst other things.. I think this video overlooks quite a lot. We were also quick to setup our avenues of aid and support to the Ukraine in an instant. There’s a reason the UK are a formidable opponent, and shouldn’t be taken too lightly.

The UK went into WW2 completely unprepared. They had most a small professional force that was used mostly to police it's territory. With alot of help from it's allies it was able to hold on and eventually win the war. Never underestimate British resolve.

The British military is still one of the most advanced in the world and one of the best trained, the war in Ukranie has been a wake up call and its not as if we're the only country caught with our pants down, many countries in Europe have dwindled their militaries such as Germany and have now woken up.

The future is looking more positive for the British military, with modern armoured vehicles, helicopters, fighters, frigates and submarines on the way.

The UK is not a land power, we are and always have been a maratime power.

Something strange is happening in my hometown in Scotland. There have been several military helicopters flying usually in pairs incredibly low (from what I’ve seen they look about 100-200 meters high up). It’s making me kinda nervous

I love that my country is the one asking people to send stuff when we are the only ones that can really afford it, it's like ur super rich friend asking you to pick up his tab

To the UK’s credit, with the invasion of Ukraine they quickly remembered lessons for the past.
A bully will not stop unless forced to stop. Pacifism and appeasement don’t work. And finally, it is better to fight on your enemy’s border than on your own border. Canada is also applying these lessons. Sadly, the necessary investments weren’t made in either countries forces because public sentiment didn’t support investing in defence. UK citizens and Canadian citizens happily bought into the peace dividend.

As an American I would say the British are our best friends and no matter what happens as long as America is capable I'm sure we will be there to help them out anyway we can. 🇬🇧. 🇺🇲

The increase to defence spending in the UK was a pittance. It really needed to double but they only increased by a few percent. Sunak and Hunt don't seem to have a clue about what the UK needs for its own defence never mind anything beyond that.
