The band decided to cover 'Long Train Running' and I needed a Compressor pedal for the tone. I considered boutique and then thought about good value pedals and eventually decided to buy the tc electronics Hyper Gravity Compressor.
Did it do the job?
Well, its still on my pedal board and I like it a lot being honest, but take the time to watch the video to see how I got on.
Thankyou to Elevated Band Tracks for the backing tracks in this edition of G&G.
"I am a regular bloke form the North of the UK with a real day job.....end of".
"However, in my limited spare time I enjoy nothing more than playing guitar and getting out to gigs whether they are my own or others".
This Channel is all about my personal experiences of being an amateur guitarist, playing at home and in the local pub and getting to experience other fantastic musicians that I want to share with you.
There will be good times and the not so good times as I continue on my six string journey, so sit back and enjoy the laughs and tears and hopefully some great guitar.....Thanks Kev

You sir, deserve a lot more love. The quality of just this video is superb.

Nice work! Can you answer a couple of questions pls... Does it stay ON all the time? Does it sound very percussive or "clicky", as it tends to be with some compression pedals?
Cheers!

Thanks, Kev, I have this pedal and am trying not to made a low frequency thud sound when I contact the string. You gave me some ideas.

I picked up one used in a trade recently. I've noticed there's a slight "delay" when turning the knobs for example "when a knob is turned the volume does increase but it takes a second after the nob is turned" would anyone happen to know if this is normal?? Thanks!

It's very good. I love the Compander + Ratio Toneprint. It's super versatile for anything. Thinking of getting another Hypergravity to send my mixes trough 2 Hypergravity compressors for stereo multiband compression and I think that's the cheapest way of adding multiband outboard compression to your music.

Black Strat, White Pickups, Compressors... OK... I know where this guy gets his inspiration.

Guys make sure to turn your sustain down! It’s better at subtle settings and will still add plenty of sustain, if you turn it up too much it will give you noise!

Did you record this "in line" or with a mic?! It sounds so " plastic".

A compressor would have to be faulty or ridiculously badly designed to "have" noise.

People.. if you read comments saying a compressor is "noisy" just disregard that person's appraisal, as they clearly don't have the knowledge to give you worthwhile advice.

Why do we have to put up with “what is a compressor and do I need one?” on every compressor review???
