100% agree. Especially at my age. I'm 44 years old. If someone likes me or I like them just show interest. As long as I haven't already rebuffed the interest please be open and be consistent. I don't read minds and I don't play games. I will show my interest the same way or back to someone I'm also interested in. If someone really likes you it's not a turn off and shouldn't appear as desperate, it lets them know you are there and around wanting to engage with them consistently. I only back off if I see they aren't feeling it or have declined my invitation to get to know each other more. There is a balance but I can tell you the older I get the more I appreciate someone who doesn't play with my time or emotions. If I like you, you will know it and I'm expecting vice versa.

Recently I read that when a woman values her own concept of her worth more than she values the connection, it makes her a dime a dozen. (Not to say you should have no self worth, but the egoic prideful kind that gets in the way.). We forget that many men are lonely and isolated and just want someone to care about them. When they risk rejection by asking us out, and we make ourselves difficult to be with by setting up hoops for him to jump through so that we can feel validated when he does, we shouldn’t be surprised if he starts associating us with frustrated or negative feelings and gives up.
