Thank you for this! I was stunned when my glass extricate burner would not turn off. It was pretty scary and I never knew this could ever be a problem. I googled the issue and up came your fantastic video! I have not repaired the problem yet but you helped me accurately identify the problem. Now I just want a new stove!

If the element is still on and hot after you turned it off, grab a wet rag or pair of tongs to pull the element out, wait for the element to cool down, put the element back in its spot (shouldn’t heat up again), place a pot of cold water on element, leave element off until the indicator light goes off, then use the element as you would regularly.

Great video, here’s how it worked for me, I turned breaker off and then on only when I cook(use) then turn it off when not, I would say about a week later I went to turn stove to use and light for some reason stoped staying on its bin 7 hours and still no light on, will update if it turns on again . I have a Siemens stove model HN 122200. And the "On indicator light stays On. checked all the switches and the problem was not in them. What can it be? It is not a hot surface indicator but an oven "On" indicator or left side hubs "On" Indicator . When I turn the left hubs On the light is bright and works as it should. When I turn everything Off the light is less bright and stays On for days while everything is cold and turned Off.

When I unplug the wires from the hub switch (second switch from the left ) the light turns off. Also when I unplug the red wire from the oven switch (heaters setup switch not temperature) . the light turns off. Where is this short out coming from? I've checked the oven switch too and it looks fine and it's is working fine.

The stove is almost like new and everything else works just fine . But this light is driving me crazy. Every wire I folowed to find the problem goes to the back of the oven and to the current source.

the burner im having a problem with heats
up on high but when I try to maintain a medium
or medium high level of heat the burner
