Well wudda FINALLY found the reason for getting this error message! I work on a Mac and am still using Photoshop CS4. Only after buying a new iMac (2015) with OS X 10.10 (Yosemite) installed did this problem develop and this error occurs ONLY if I click on a PS file in the finder to open Photoshop. In other words, if I open PS first and then choose: File > Open and bring up an image in Photoshop, make a change and choose: File > Save (or File > Save As) I do not get this error.

Thanks so much for solving this mystery. But I do believe that this procedure is not treating the "disease", it is merely treating the "symptom" - nevertheless, I say, "if taking a pill will make me feel better then hell, take the pill!" In other words this is a "work-a-round" for a deeper seated problem relating to a series of ingredients: #1 - older version of Photoshop #2 - Newer operating system and probably, #3 - a compatibility issue between an older version of Photoshop and a much more advanced computer architecture and operating system. BUT HEY, IF I HAVE TO TAKE ONE ADDITIONAL STEP TO AVOID THE ERROR ISSUE AND ACTUALLY SAVE THE FILE, SO BE IT - MUCH THANKS!!

I did not understand anything.I have Photoshop CS5.1 and Sony Vegas 12.0 problem for the sam error. Still cannot figure out how to solve.

Solved it on windows 10 by closing all open pictures on windows.

HEY MAYBE I CAN HELP !!! --> I solved it by seting security setting and giving permissions because i was changed my account from adming to guest probably thats why i had this problem.
