A record number of people have been killed in dog attacks this year - none of those by breeds on the banned list.

'Is it the dog or it the owner who is allowing it to get out of control'.

That young man is spot on when he said that because they are dogs we are expected to accept them in society, if tigers were made legal and they killed just ONE person they would be banned immediately

This vet is sick in the head. She's blaming the parents for being negligent but not the dogs for literally killing children

Ironically the vet demonstrates that she does not have any control of her own Rottweiler while arguing that owners need to at least have a "recall". She can't even get the supposedly gentle beast to come to her side in her own home! I have always thought of people like this vet as foolish and dangerous. And the very same dog attacks she refers to, plus her own pathetic display of mastery over her animal, proves me correct. We trust the general public to own dangerous dogs responsibly at our children's peril. Most people like this vet who choose to own dogs that they themselves cannot handle I always think are over-compensating for something.

I absolutely agree with this man. I have recently DEVELOPED a dog phobia. I never used to be scared of dogs but I am a nature photographer and I have now been attacked, chased and seen so many people and dogs being attacked by dogs that I am now very afraid. And the absolute WORST thing is the owner who just stands back and yells, as I am trying to beat their dog way with my camera equipment, “He doesn’t normally do this! He’s normally friendly!” when the dog came out of nowhere and went for me. Dangerous breeds that can cause real damage should be banned and people should have to do a course and get a license BEFORE they get a dog.

I don't completely trust pitbulls. I have petted a few friendly ones, but would never have one.

Pitbull types absolutely DO attack without warning. The trait was bred into them to give them an advantage in fights.

JUST because the dogs aren’t on the banned list it doesn’t mean that they’re not dangerous, there was a time when there were no drink driving or speeding laws but they were brought in because people were being killed 🤦‍♀️

some dogs are bred to be more aggressive.
just as some are bred to work, to herd, to point at birds and to dig grounds.
bull/mastiff/livestock guarding breeds can and are aggressive.
no amount of ownership oversight is ever going to complete neutralize their nature.
why can't we agree on this fact?

I could not go to the park in the sun the other day. Dogs running around. the dog is more important than me and Grand kids .... WE need No Dog Parks for our children and those who are Terrified of dogs like me still i am 61. i dont go near them i will not go for dinner lunch wedding. if dos are there. owners. YES! Please BAN all dangerous dogs! I had to start walking in the cemetery because in any places you go - be in parks, woodland, busy street, beach.. pubs! you name it, I almost been attacked a couple of times because the stopid people do not have them leashed or muzzled. And if they are leashed they cannot stop them from attacking as they are very strong beasts.

Yes ban them all. Introduce licences and compulsory training for all dogs and owner's for all breeds.

Neighbour has a bully which randomly attacked their female friend who knew the dog already. Sounded horrific and took several men to get it off. Dog is still with the owner. Didn't get reported like many others as they didn't want the dog taken away.

So this woman is basically saying we need to make allowances for these dogs and work around them??!! I wonder if she would be happy to take responsibility for one more person losing their life as a result of these dogs being allowed on the streets. I disagree with her about how these dogs can be safe if breed / trained properly. Their size and power can never make them 100% safe no matter what she says. They are breed from other dog breeds to have that killer instinct and power. How could a dog like that ever be considered to be not a threat. There’s nurture but there is also ALWAYS nature. This woman is making it obvious that she is putting these dangerous breeds of dogs before people in her arguments.
