Notional Missile vs Generic Ship Structure

This animation illustrates a high-fidelity computational prediction of a notional fragment missile detonating inside of a generic ship structure. The computation was performed using Corvid's Velodyne hydrostructural solver. It encompasses numerous physical phenomena, including high-strain-rate shock physics, and high-explosive detonation. Calculations such as this one can be used to assess warhead effectiveness and lethality against maritime targets. It is visualized in ParaView with the OSPRay Pathtracing engine.
