My dad was a WWII Marine and fought in the Pacific theater. He always used to tell me how all the movies were fake, showing guys with perfect hair and clear skin. It was so hot, humid and wet that he said his feet were always wet. He said most everyone had terrible acne, jungle rot on their feet and were sick from insect bites. He said it was dirty, messy and not fun.

I'm a Marine and during basic training, we stayed changing our socks because of all the walking through swamps and ALL the rain. Our feet got soaked through the jungle boots and wool socks. I doubled my socks but some didn't change them at all and this is what happened.
