How to: Fix 'My Removable Device' shortcut virus from USB external HDD and Pendrive

Sometimes you see that your pendrive is occupied by some files with some memory storage. But you can't find any of the files you kept inside that drive....instead, you find a shortcut......This video will help you to retrieve those files...Enjoy!!

Here are the steps:

1.Open the drive
2.Click on the "View" tab
3.Click on "Options"
4.Click on the "View" tab of "Options"
5.Check the "show hidden files,folders or drives" option
6.Scroll down and Uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files" option
7.Open the blank folder
8.Delete all autorun files there and then copy all files
9.Come back to your drive again and delete the shortcut
10.Paste all your files
And you will retrieve all your hidden data......

This video was posted 7 years ago and it helps me today 03 day of November 2023... I plug my hard disk into my friend pc and it corrupt my HDD creating the shortcut, I jst follow the video and it works for me.. I wish I can like dis video like 1m times
