I would try spacing the plants out a little more. A Couple less plants for that size of tub. I would also get rid of the water pump (it will be producing heat) and make the nutrient solution too warm. Add a larger air stone with a decent air pump not one of the cheap aquarium ones. I am going to build a setup for strawberries and see if i have any luck with them. I have only ever grown them outside before.

I originally couldn't grow them outdoors at all. I finally bought them with roots, dried in a bag (dormant). They worked great. Thing to know is, the offshoot is how they reproduce. Thinning is what you need to do. You forced a 4 year in one grow cycle. Separate and give room to grow and you will get a ton of large berries. What you said about the water VS. nutrients was right on. Same as feeding an animal GOOD food = better tasting results. You have a full 4 year crop ready to divide and nutrient rich berries that want to grow. Get 4 trays and cull the leaves to get a high yield. Do ATLEAST twice a year and you'll be amazed at the results. You can even cut a rooted shoot and dry it for another crop or plant later.

Thanks for a very informative video and also you efforts are greatly appreciated. I am now awaiting my Quinault strawberries to bare fruit, similar setup... Your video helped me answer and resolve some of my concerns😊

hey bro keep your nutrient's at a lower temp. preferably below 70 Fahrenheit. the lower temp does 2 things. prevents Pythium and increases Dissolved oxygen in solution.

I find that strawberries, at least for me, grew much better in a mini ditch bucket setup than DWC. I used little 1 gallon paint mixing cups with vermiculite and a 1 gallon paint strainer to hold the medium. I put the drain at the bottom of the cup since it was too flimsy to drill the sides. I let the drain pop up 1inch to act as a reserve and sat it directly on the drain pipe.

Hey Joshua - I had a few indoor strawberry plants die in my NFT system, not sure exactly what happened, but a commenter on youtube mentioned something about "cool hours." Apparently, strawberries can be revived by throwing them in the fridge for a while and then putting them back in the system? I wonder if that would work with your artificial winter? Good luck - nice to see this thing still going!

Hi Joshua! I’m impressed with your hydraulic garden! I’m so new to this and I need your help!🙏

How did the strawberries that were in the flowing system do ? I think the air bubbles are meant to hit the actual roots so they have exposure to oxygen/air so they don’t suffocate. I’m curious that even just the flowing system if done constantly wouldn’t suffocate the plants. I think there’s a timing system that should be used with the flowing system. So the pump stops running for a certain period of time.

I planted the strawberries seed and they started fine it’s only 11 days old and have just 2 leaves, when I should separate them? When 3 leaves come? Please give me an advice! Also I don’t even know if it would make any fruits, because it’s Japanese Oishii strawberries, I was picking seeds from the berries my self? They started to grow, I was surprised, but now can you recommend the best hydroponics for the seedlings? Thank you so much!!!))

Great video! What is a good EC for strawberries? I accidentally gave mine nutrient burn.

Constant light, water, electric pump, fertilizer chemicals and agrotoxics, sounds like a LOT of resources for a handful of berries..
