Outlaw has risen over sub because with the buffs, it now brings great sustained damage into cloth in a caster meta and just as much cc as sub without being hard countered by demo lock.

Awc games are not played to win they are played to not lose. There are too many ways to stop sub setups now, in long games, tankyness and sustained pressure with great cc is king, which is now outlaw in a nutshell.

The reason for disparity between touneys and ladder in outlaw representation is because Outlaw depends heavily on his team to dampen out the game by trading well and not overlapping cds. Enduring brawler gains full stack 45 secs after combat and that means outlaw needs considerable time to perform at its best. Outlaw also generally does considerably less dmg to plate such as ret war which usually never apears in tournament gameplay but is popular in ladder.

the game is dead in lfg(eu) over 2k rating. There's like 1 or 2 groups in the LFG if I sit for 2-3 hours

1min into the video and the simple answer for why outlaw is good in tourney and not in ladder is the gameplay style, everyone knows tourny is giga defensive and safe gameplay to slow the game down, outlaw does that, but nobody plays like that on ladder, so outlaw is irrelevant there..
And that style doesn't work at all in shuffle because you cant choose your team, outlaw has to be the guard/peeler for a more threatening teammate, like boomy/arcane, if not, it's bad.
Outlaw/Wizard/X is essentially the same as Arms/Wizard/X, for all of the same reasons.

A big problem with Outlaw on ladder is that on TR they were able to run double 447 crafted weapons with the extra damage embellishment, whereas on ladder everyone already used their sparks for Sub gear - plus not many PvPers have the 447 crafting crests. I don't remember if the TR Rogues were running Crit/Vers or Mast/Vers either - on ladder it's Mast/Vers because of Sub gear, but OL has historically been Crit/Vers

Will be a few weeks before we can really measure OL dominance.

Being able to counter pick makes tourney metas different compared to the ladder meta.

Holy priest mana looked insane in AWC, completely unparalleled and holy RMP looked as strong as in SL, with mehhx outdampening next on his hpala playing ele demo, while doing double hpala healing, which is simply not OK. (They were straight up tanking ele demo dmg at times)

I don't agree that you can't say that outlaw is only good because it's being played by X people. You really can. Outlaw is good because of the consistent damage and CC that it has, but it has no burst damage, you can't secure a kill in solo shuffle, and you won't do much in 3v3 in the lower rankings because the games rarely hit dampening. Outlaw is good when played by teams that are really good at what they do and that take games into deep dampening. At 1600 outlaw is trash

Always enjoy your videos Ven. Curious on your thoughts about this. On Pika's stream the other day, he mentioned that Outlaw was bad. People came into the stream and talked about how it won the AWC, how can it be bad. He said if it's so good, why didn't anyone play it into him. Do you think Outlaw is just bad (or not as good) into Sub rogues that can be played at the Pika/Whazz level or Outlaw is just much better into casters?

Anyways WW will be nerfed because it can hit 200k once on low armor (3 classes) in the game.

some specs might be good if you are playing normal 3v3, but playing solo queue with them shows their true strength and weaknesses, i think the right way to look how good a class is, is looking at their solo queue performance, not in a normal 3v3 team that is in voice and coordinated

works in limited comps and as a counter. It's not good, maybe you should take it for a spin in solo shuffle to change your mind I guess :)

I agree with you that you can't say its only good because Whazz plays or Brunhilde plays it. The other side of that coin is Ret for example can't be good because no one is playing it when money is on the line. This statement holds for Arms, Destro, Surv, all specs that people claim are good A tier+ for example.

SS and AWC are two different things and just cause class/spec sucks in one doesnt mean it sucks in the other. People should start acknowledging it when giving feedback and especially I hope blizzard realises this. They definitely made balancing trickier with the addition of SS

Gotta remember too 1 of the big reasons why WW wasn't played as muc has you'd think is the massive over-population of Hpals.
Hpal hard-counters both ww cds, and defensives (Karma ofc). If it was a different healer meta, im 99% sure you'd see a billion wws

Balance druid is a tier, only in lower lobbies incarn and root beam is a might, on higher lobbies this is no issue. If you dispel, stun and lock there is very little a boomie can do in case of single target or even crowd control. ww is much better he can crit 180k+, 100 -> 0 on his own. ww also counters boomie, if ww & unholy is in a lobby they simply run down any caster, feral is super strong when in lobby with an aug. Sub rog is super strong, outlaw is same especially against casters. Mages are A close to S tier with every spec.
