The bike example for torque trips me up every time. When I was a kid I kept my bike in the highest gear at all times because everything else felt like my legs were spinning and doing nothing. I never could never completely understand what value a low gear would have, or how my legs spinning twice as fast for the same output was supposed to help me up a hill.

I have a question to discuss; which came before, vector multiplication or physical quantities, I mean.. did we conclude the cross and dot products because this is what they mean in physics, OR we had them already and then we chose the dot for work and cross for torque etc... because this is what each product mean and we should use a specific type to have the physical meaning correct?! 🤔
