- - About Jordan Peterson - -
Jordan B. Peterson (born 12 June 1962) is a Canadian professor of psychology, clinical psychologist, YouTube personality, and author. He began to receive widespread attention in the late 2010s for his views on cultural and political issues, often described as conservative.

Born and raised in Alberta, Peterson obtained bachelor's degrees in political science and psychology from the University of Alberta and a PhD in clinical psychology from McGill University. After teaching and research at Harvard University, he returned to Canada in 1998 to permanently join the faculty of psychology at the University of Toronto. In 1999, he published his first book, Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief, which became the basis for many of his subsequent lectures. The book combined information from psychology, mythology, religion, literature, philosophy, and neuroscience to analyze systems of belief and meaning.

The proportion doesn't matter, Peterson, what matters is the power. Money is power, obviously, especially in the US. The claim that men do worse at school is also bogus. Men from rich powerful backgrounds do as well as they need to, which isn't particularly well at all (the Trumps, the Murdochs, etc). Women have to work harder to get ahead academically, and they generally have more out-of-school duties to attend to. China has never had woman in the Politburo Standing Committee in the 70 years of its existence, and the current Chinese Testosterone Party full Politburo has no female members. Again, though it's not about proportion but about power. Most countries have only one political leader, and 90% of them are male. Vive les bonobos!

Hmmm...Just what DID Jordan say here? That the majority of people in prison are MEN, that the majority of people who are on the street are MEN, that most people that are disaffected are MEN, that most victims of violent crime are MEN, that most of the people that commit suicide are MEN...that sounds like society IS male dominated to me. He just misdirected the conversation away from the fact that she said that most wealth and capital are owned by men, which was not the thesis. The thesis was that SOCIETY is male dominated, not that the proportion of ownership is male dominated. Every point he made was that males dominate those elements of society, so his argument actually supports that society is male dominated. So many people distracted by what they want to hear, by confirmation bias, than people that actually look at the logic of the statements.

No. In any relationship between men and women, say husband and wife, the capital the property invariably belongs to the man. The husband needs to give half his salary to his wife to ensure she is not doing unpaid labour.

And most of these problems are a consequence of patriarchy, sorta benefits all genders to fight it. Would reduce the statistics he talks about imo :)
