Dad’s rock, seriously. If you’re a Dad, you are so, so important in your kid’s lives. Thank you for showing up and being there for us. We love you, Dads! ❤

It's the worst when the mom blocks the dad from seeing their kids and the courts do nothing about it

Telomeres for those of you wondering are extensions on chromosomes that impact your longevity. There are plenty of studies on them, including how they're impacted in mothers with disabled children. They're affected by high stress and other factors. Have a good day!

My father became an orphan at 7 years old. He was a warm, loving father who worked hard to provide his family a better life than he had. He passed away 6 weeks short of his 84 birthdsy

I'm a single dad of two little girls. I have to be both father and mother. Discipline and love. It's a small line to walk and balance on. All I can do is hope

It occurred to me that it's not just a lack of a father that kids experience in a single mom household, but also the lack of a fully engaged mother. Because without the support of the father, mom has to work twice as hard, shoulder twice the burden and stress as she normally would. Yes she is there, but how much more present would she have been able to be if dad was around supporting his family the way it should have been.

Edit: those of you who are reading my comment as an attack on fathers/men: THAT'S NOT WHAT I'M SAYING. I'm talking about the effect it has on CHILDREN. Who are more important than adults, IMO

As long as my father lived, I never feared anything, I was safe in this world. He was a tower of strength for me and my siblings. I was blessed to have him as my dad and I will bear testimony in front of God that he was a great father. I miss him very much. RIP Daddy.

I visited my father a few times every year when i was a child, and the heartbreak every time i had to go back to my mom and leave him still brings me to tears when i think about it today😢😢 My dad walked to his car quite fast, because he did not want me to se him cry...😢

As a girl raised without a dad present, I know that boys treat girls different if theres no dad to worry about

I remember one of the hardest truths I had to face as a really young kid, I was being unruly towards my mom one day and my mom was living with my grandfather at the time because of a divorce, I told my mom I wish I had dad around, my Granpa in complete silence grabs my shoulder and takes me outside to the garage. In a stern voice my Granpa says “son, you know damn well your daddy ain’t around and he hasn’t done shit for you. I have, now you need to learn to respect your momma or you’re getting an ass whopping”. I honestly can’t thank him enough, even for the discipline, god only knows how hard becoming a man would have been without him. Love you Granpa ❤.

As a girl who lacked a father, I absolutely agree. You sort of have to grow up and support your mother. I was definitely jealous of my friends who had happy families, but you have to learn to accept this is your reality and make the best of it. My mom is a hard working angel and she raised me well 💙

I often thank God for my father being in my life. My mother is a mentally ill person, and he had many times where he wanted to leave, but he confessed to me when I got older that the only reason he didn't was that he didn't want to leave us kids alone with her. I'm 29 years old now, and they are both in their 70s. My youngest sibling is 24. He has finally served her with divorce papers. I love that man to death.

And yet most “Family Courts” don’t view fathers are parents, only payees.

And abusive parents are more damaging than not having them in the picture at all.

I was stuck with my abusive mum who never let my dad see me, and she made me hate my dad by telling lies. I ran away at 14 to be with my dad, life got a lot better.

I realize how grateful I am to have such an amazing, loving, and caring father. I also realize how hard it is for people out there who don’t have fathers and have one less role model to guide them. Appreciate what you have while you have it because one day it might be gone

We need both of our parents...and our grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. Family is first.

I am so grateful for a good dad who was around and taking good care of all of us. Rest In Peace, my dear dad, and I hope to see you again one sweet day.

Fathers are needed just as much as mothers.
