I love how you combine lighting diagrams, footage of what you're doing, and results. It greatly helps to see everything side by side. Thank you for your videos!

" How the light see" or "How the reflector see" great concept, !!
Also what mood you want using specific reflector, very well explained .
I have now a clear idea what I need, thank you.

Very good and well articulated video. I like how you talk about what the softbox "sees." A good way to put it. More, and more understandable, in seven minutes that a lot of guys do in triple that time.

Once again, I'm most great full for your off camera lighting videos. You truly help me build a foundation of what it takes to understand how to light my subject.

Thank you not only for making this video but making a whole series of Laws of light. I was about to purchase Amazon lighting/studio setup for my product/portrait photography setup but I think I should watch this whole series before I spend anything on anything. P.S. You are an amazing teacher and after watching this clip just once I can teach all that to anyone. Thanks once again.

Purchased a softbox and haven't used this much. Doing a mini photoshoot with a friend's baby tomorrow and this video helped me tremendously! Saving this video for future reference!

Very helpful! I was trying to figure out what I always had a dark background and it helped seeing why I needed a bigger soft box!

0:45 Place softbox horizontally for softer light + more fill.
1:06 Place vertically for harder, moodier lighting. Place at back/side (or combo of both) for even moodier lighting.
1:38 Feather light for really dramatic lighting, completey black background.
3:04 Interesting light setup to try.
4:04 This light setup narrows the area of coverage, creates vignette.
4:46 Large vs small softbox. Look at example; smaller = more contrast. Prefer this one.
