Love this, because people think interpreters just do a "word by word" translation between languages, but interpretation requires being deeply familiar with both languages and being able to relay a conceptually accurate message pretty quickly.

In Italian it's like:
Cotton candy is "Zucchero filato" which means "Yarned sugar"
Raccoon is "Procione" or "Orsetto lavatore" which means "Washer little bear"
If someone sneezes, we say "Salute!" (We say it in every case) which means "Health!"
When we gotta say "My name is..." we say "Mi chiamo..." which, just like French, means "I call myself..."
For "How old are you?" we say it just like French "Quanti anni hai?" "How many years have you?"
For years we say it just like French except we got one word to say 70 "Settanta", 80 "Ottanta", and 90 "Novanta". For example, 1997 would be said like this: (It's said all in a row) "Thousand/nine hundred/ninety/seven".
And for anyone wondering, yes, I am Italian.
