The comment section is basically: Why did the home owner fight back? he could have shared the home he had if he remained peaceful during the robbery and murder of his children.

Bassem has the kindest most professional way of saying that israel is to blame for the worlds problems.

The Egyptian wall doesn't come up much in these conversations

Gilbert Gottfried told a story about a man, a magic lamp, a genie, and a map of the Middle East. The man wished for peace between the Israelis and Palestinians. I miss Gilbert.

This guy is from Egypt. He said Israel doesn’t want to give up land for peace, but that’s exactly what Israel did with Egypt. They gave back all of Sinai for peace.

Minute 1:05 Mr Youssef said Israel has so much power and Palestine has no power. How about Iran supporting Hamas? Minute 2:00 Arafat walked away from Oslo Accords because there were lots of catches . Why can't Mr. Youssef tell us what those catches were?

Lex: What’s your solution?
Bassem: Israel does not want a solution and the Arabs treated Jews well before they had a state.

I think Bassam is correct that Israel has made many mistakes and their current government won’t solve the problem. The US in partnership with the Arab States should absolutely step and help put an end to this and figure out a long term solution. My issue is he completely absolves the Palestinians and the other Arab states from their role in architecting the current situation. Let’s just forget about the various wars and sneak attacks that sowed the seeds of distrust, the terror attacks on Israelis in their country or abroad (Olympic slayings), and the various edicts groups like Hamas have made about the elimination of their state and people. Let’s not be intellectually dishonest. Fault is a two way street here

I can't stand this guy. He's eloquent and disarming, but so biased.
"It's not true Palestinians walked away from multiple peace deals. The details show that there were so many catches it's a bad deal... there's so much imbalance of power between Israel and Palestine..."
As if that's an excuse? You (Palestinian leadership) have a weak hand and your opponent has a strong hand, and in a moment of weakness, your opponent is willing to offer a compromise (even if not exactly fair) rather than just whittle you to death... and you choose... death because the deal isn't exactly fair? Bro, you have no bargaining chip!
And now you complain that you're being whittled to death, like you wanted. Should have just taken the deal; realize that you don't get to decide whether it's a great deal, because you lost the war (that you started).
The main thrust of Bassem is he wants Palestinians to be treated according to ideal Western morality, when the Palestinians and Gulf States have never operated by such rules themselves. If the fledgling Israel had been wiped out, you'd hear no remorse from Palestine in 2024 I guarantee.

What do people mean when they say this issue isn’t being given enough attention?

why would Israel want to help make the Palestinians stronger, when they are swears to destroy israel? It doesn't make any sense

I wanna give this guy a chance, but his first two points are quoting Obama for his foreign policy and defending Arafat…more of the same

This guy is further proof there is no solution. Anyone wasting their time trying to find it is.... well wasting your time.

Lex lost me a long time ago with his childlike wonder questions such as "what is the meaning of life?" Whatever the purpose of life (which would be a better question), it sure as shit isn't having bad faith actors like this guy who refuses to admit the underlying problem with this conflict is the death cults/terrorist organizations like Hamas that make Palestinians' lives a living hell to begin with. How and why people like Bassem "reason" the way they do is an unfortunate byproduct of life itself, but it would be a better question to ask, which Lex won't be doing since it won't make him as likeable.

when talking about a solution he always deflects to blame Israel for everything... and highlights everything wrong (something he is correct something's he is 100% wrong) from Israel.. and makes a lot of assumptions with zero evidence...
