Israel-Hamas war: Iran rejected a call by three European countries to refrain from any retaliatory attacks. Iran called it an 'excessive request.' The leaders of Britain, France & Germany also endorsed the push by Qatar, Egypt & the U.S. to broker a deal to end the war.
Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian told UK's Prime Minister Keir Starmer on a phone call that a punitive response to an aggressor is "a right of nations and a solution for stopping crimes and aggression," according to the official IRNA news agency.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke out on Tuesday about a possible cease-fire deal.
Netanyahu said, "The claim that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu added new demands to the May 27 outline is false. The July 27 draft does not include new conditions and does not contradict the May 27 outline. Hamas is the one who demanded 29 changes - something that the prime minister opposed."
