I have to thank you for this video. At first, I was searching for such option in Realtek Audio Console but with no luck. I didn't noticed that Dell has drivers from Realtek with own GUI.

For those out there who is using Acer laptop and is looking for solutions,
here is my scenario and how i found a solution from this video:

Scenario:
Ok, so I was wondering why when we plug in headphones windows doesnt recognize it as a new device instead treating it as the same audio device. I went to download Acer User Manual for my model (Acer Aspire A515-52G) and yes i read through all of it.
In the user manual, it says the following: "Use the headphone port to plug in stereo headphones or powered
speakers; connecting an audio device to the headphone port disables the built-in speakers"

I thought there were no workaround with this as the internal speaker was disabled on hardware side, not the software side. At least until i watched this video.

In this video he shown that you could change the audio jack function from headphone -> line in which allows your audio chip to recognize it as an external device. I tried to do the same on my laptop with Realtek Audio Console but Realtek Audio Console wont even open with "Unable to connect RPC Service Error". I assumed its because I'm using realtek driver from windows update instead of the manufacturer's driver.

So, i went to advanced system settings and disabled "Automatically let windows download manufacturer's drivers", uninstalled the windows audio driver and installed the audio driver i got directly from Acer Driver page for my model. Finally i got Realtek Audio Console to work and there is a simillar option as what he shown in the video.

In Realtek Audio Console:
1. Make sure you have plugged in your headphone
2. At the bottom left, click on "Device advanced settings" and you will see a text ANALOG with selection below it,
3. Change it to "line in" to enable laptop speakers, Headphone/Headset to disabe laptop speakers

Its 2020 and there are no posts in Acer Forum talking about this problem, I thought I left my solution here just in case anyone in near future could find this helpful, cheers.

Thank you very much for providing this information. I had no idea how to do this other than unplugging the headphones. I knew there had to be a way but had no clue that I had to click on the black circle in the Dell audio options. Once again thank you very much.

It's actually faster to just keep plugging your headphones in every time your parents come home instead of leaving them in and switching the audio outputs in the Dell control panel. Wish they made this a feature instead of covid vaccine updates on start menu.

Before I use to be able to change playback devices from just the audio icon on the taskbar, now it only shows speakers and headphones as a whole and doesn’t show my headphones different from speakers, is there a fix?
