We don't even realise we're doing it, but if left unchecked these thoughts can contribute to feelings of anxiety and depression. Excellent summary. Most people suffer with these thoughts to some degree. Negative emotions are there for solid evolutionary reasons however, we should be taught emotions are not facts but early warning signs that need full investigation. I like to think of negative emotions as dashboard warning lights telling us something may be wrong as opposed to solid fact.
