Let's dive into the misunderstood concept of the tithe. You’ve likely heard that you’re supposed to give 10% of your income to the church—but where did that number come from, and is it really what the Bible teaches? We’ll explore:

• The origins of tithing in the Hebrew Scriptures
• How tithing evolved into more than just a 10% rule, with multiple layers of giving
• Why Jesus and the New Testament challenge the concept of tithing
• The importance of uncoerced generosity in the Christian faith

Generosity is less about hitting a percentage and more about giving from the heart. Whether you’ve wrestled with the idea of tithing or want to better understand how to align your giving with the teachings of Jesus, there is a more liberating perspective.

🔑 Key Takeaways:

• The biblical tithe was more complex than a simple 10% rule.
• Jesus emphasizes generosity without coercion or obligation.
• Generosity today should reflect both heart and intention, not religious pressure.

🙏 Let’s reflect together on how we can practice generosity in ways that truly honor God’s call to care for each other.

Right on. God isn't a mob moss or a slot machine. We're inspired, not required.

I think it does, since it helps to see once again that Israel's government in ancient times dwelt on religious laws, hence their tithing and diverse givings were their forms of taxation for financial and material equilibrium in their society. This being the case, we should willingly do whatever we're capable of doing in adding our quota(s) to the development of our own communities with the Christ-like Mind of doing such service to humanity as one done unto GOD! Liberty and Divine Spontaneity is the resultant effect of Truth-Revelation such as is made known unto this planet through The Life of Christ Yeshua on earth!
