YES! I agree with you, Daniel. I was going to this one church and I was required to give $80.00 a month. This was money I really didn't have living on Social Security. I told them I will have to stop going to church. I ended up not going anymore.

The question about how the church uses your money is not as big a deal as being faithful to God. It's true the church should have accountability for what the money is used for. But play your part and be faithful in giving and if the local church is mismanaging funds, it will take it up with God.

I love the ideas presented here regarding giving. In regard to tithing, there's no such thing as a biblical tithe that was received as money, and the ceremonial and civil ordinances that facilitated biblical systematic tithing are obsolete. We are free to give, money or otherwise, without limit or minimum, as we are able and convicted, but not biblically bound to make any payment anywhere. Blessings in your giving!

Giving starts after 10%. Before that it is returning what is not mine but God's. However God will not be mocked if I sow sparingly I will reap sparingly. I cannot out give God!
