Class Question vs. NREMT Question

This is what we mean when we say the NREMT exam is not like the average class exam. Students can use this example to practice for the NREMT. Educators can use it to learn how to write test questions that are more like the National Registry's and more challenging to students.

The top question, I was leaning towards the nitro, but since you explained it I now understand why you would do aspirin first. Thank you

The dosage of the aspirin is what threw me off more than the question honestly

The reason I didn’t think it was aspirin because the dosage is wrong atleast for my protocol 324 mg 4 baby aspirin

Exactly that one of the problem that we had in the class tests. Thank you you so much. I felt very comfortable with National question that you presented and very easy to apply my knowledge.

This is exactly why we need National EMT education standards if our registration test is administered on a national level. This very straightforward question is very confusing to me because the dose of aspirin here is not what I was taught. (324 mg chewable). My EMT teacher was fantastic and I feel very prepared to be an EMT. I’m not afraid of giving good Pt care. I’m afraid of failing the test because of inconsistencies like this.

THANK YOU! This helps a lot. I find the volume of what we learn in a short span somewhat overwhelming. This helps

Great videos....thank you. They're direct and concise and I've learned quite a bit.

What are your thoughts on 'adaptive testing' and a moving bar to be met? If you're testing to be sure that a minimum standard is achieved, and rightly so, why do candidates get questions of increasing complexity if they're doing well while others don't. I don't see the 'apples to apples' comparison.

I don’t know, the pale and diaphoretic sort of caught me and we were thought oxygen is primary as to prevent shock.

Okay I am very confused and maybe someone can clarify. But I just finished my emt program. We were taught that if a pt complains of chest pain we have to give o2 no matter what. It is a mandatory part of our abc’s.
