Vocal Coach Reacts to Janis Joplin | Piece Of My Heart | Live | Ken Tamplin

A ticket to see Janis Joplin perform at Woodstock would have cost you $8 a ticket back in 1969. That is pretty hard to conceive for someone who went on to be one of the most influential voices in music.

Janis sang rock, blues, and soul and was one of the most successful rock stars of her era.

Before going solo she got her start in a band called Big Brother and the Holding Company, gaining attention after a performance with the band at the Monterey Pop Festival.

After putting out 2 albums with the band she embarked on a solo career. She went on to produce 3 studio albums with 5 singles that reached the Billboard Hot 100. Her fourth album was released 3 months after her death and ended up reaching number 1 on the Billboard Charts.

Janis was known for her charismatic personality and performances and was ranked as one of the Greatest Singers of all time by Rolling Stone. She is still one of the top-selling musicians in the United States, with over 15.5 million albums sold.

Today I'll be reacting to a performance of her classic "Piece Of My Heart". She gets pretty engaged with her audience which reminded me of some similar experiences of my own.
