Being one who records whilst they work and edits in the twilight hours. I know the difficulties and how much effort goes into making these videos. Material like this is undervalued. Education has changed so much with YouTube. Society are gaining the equivalent of a YouTube plumbing degree. It's good when it's used for something positive like making individuals better engineers. Onsite experience is vital as well as real qualifications. Yet this media stream and experience passed on is helping nations strive to better engineering standards. It would have been a game changer if I had some of these videos when I initially qualified as a plumber 13 years ago. There was hardly anything like this to watch. It's great that the information is there for those that are thirsty to grow in their knowledge of the trade.

When using Teflon tape, leave the first thread clear and it will thread on a lot easier.

I am 74 and learned a lot about plumbing from my grandpa. He was a plumber until he died. I am also a Tool and Die maker and have made just about anything you can think of but I always like to learn new tricks. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks. I worked at Arizona State University for 20 years In the Physics and Astronomy Instrument Shop basically a very hi tech shop. I taught some of the younger kids many tricks I learned over the years and am always eager to learn new tricks. That is what makes a good craftsman a good one, you gotta know the tricks of the trade. I always appreciate learning these sorts of things. Most younger kids have never made anything or worked on their own car. Hell I used to pull transmissions out by getting under them on the ground and pulling them out on my chest. Well anyway I always appreciate the neat things that people do to make the job not just easier but doable. Thanks again and keep up the good work. I loved the teflon tape thing and the hole saw trick.

By the way I have personally made parts for three Mars missions and actually have parts setting on Mars that I machined while at ASU and some on the Mars Global Surveyor that is circling the planet Mars. Been around the block a few times.

Nice job! Most people would drag out one trick for 5 minutes and waste everyone’s time. Thanks for not doing that!

Outstanding Job! I have been doing home repairs on my house for 40 years, and I didn't know a lot of these tips. This kind of knowledge is not found in any book. It comes from years of experience of experts doing this stuff over and over, and finding a better, easier way of doing it. Pure gold!

It is so nice to see the amount of comments from people, with decades of experience, learning from this video.

I have never done work on plumbing, stumbled upon this channel from the recommendations.
I'll see when life sends me back here to help me with my baptism in plumbing

Clever idea using two hole saw blades on one arbor so the smaller one centers the drill for the bigger one! Another good idea to drill a hole in a piece of plywood using the required holesaw, then clamp it over the area where you want to drill the hole to stop the drill moving around. I've used this trick several times. This is really good when you don't want the larger hole exactly centered over the smaller one, or if you want to make an oval hole using the same size holesaw by joining 2 holes together. This also works for diamond tile drills, and in fact I've made up a small plywood template which I keep with my tile drills.

OMG, the 2nd trick about the upsizing a hole that's too small is GENIUS! I literally just did this yesterday, I wish I would've watched this! You got a subscribe out of me just for that. I've done this twice in my life and both times totally screwed up the job because the bit kept jumping out of my hands...

Wait, what?! An informative video that didn't waste 5 minutes on small talk and had lots of useful tips in a short space of time? Judging by most videos I think Youtube will demonetize this asap.
