Amazing tricks for home owners, common knowledge among plumbers. I dont use the pen method, just use my finger near the wall, by the time you get the teflon on the pen, I be done putting on teflon on 3 MIPs. I use 1.414 because I like to be more exact and I usually cut the pipe out of the fitting because I usually have more pipe than fittings.

Usually these tip videos are crap. This one has some nice tips. Did most of these before but the teflon tape trick will be useful.

I love the hole saw one. On the 45 degree angle fittings calculation, I would have liked to see an example, as "subtract the two fittings" isn't clear although I think I can guess what you meant.

I love that first one with the PTFE tape (that's what we call it in the UK). That always happens to me. I have to say that ONE trick made my day, I knew the rest already. But I am so glad for this channel and I really appreciate it. I learned some other tricks from the other videos as well. Please make more. Even if I learn one, it may save me hours in the years to come.

I subtracted the depth of the fitting which would be to the point where the pipe comes to a halt so to speak, but on reading your reply its from the centre of the fitting to the face of fitting or hub as you say, i will try this thanks .

Like the 45 offset trick finding the travel but what I'd like to know how to work out when u have more than one set of pipes and u want to keep them parallel. And if u have ya pipes each end how to work out how much length of pipe needed so your offset matches to existing instead of cutting another short bit to add in

The most ingenious plumbing trick I ever heard of was where you cannot turn off the water in a pipe that you need to cut or replace. Use dry ice to freeze the portion of pipe until you complete your work.
