If you get the wax ring with 4 nuts and 4 washers you can use 2 of each to tighten down on the closet ring before you set the toilet. Best option by far and they're solid. 👍🏼

Nice tips. One trick I've found indispensable when soldering in tight spaces is using Roxul insulation. It doesn't burn or heat up that bad.

I wrap it around the joint I'm going to solder, leaving a bit of space for the solder joint, make my solder joint then let it cool. Remove the Roxul once it's cool and no burn marks at all on the wall. Works awesome, and you only need to use scraps of it from the job site which are mostly likely going to get thrown out. I do it at home all the time (I'm not a plumber) for when I solder.

No dont use a licence plate use a heat matt or fire blanket

As ìt heats up the leicence plate you melt the wall behind i.e. paint wallpaper etc

Aluminum foil folded a couple times will work just as well as that licence plate and is a lot more common than having a random licence plate laying around.

1:31 if you double nut your w/c the bolt won't spin either and it makes the w/c more secure when kids sit and rock their feet
Melting holes in the lids for plumbers is industry standard.
But the license plate and the 2 nuts on the level are good 1's

When your stool bolt is turning I wouldn't lock it down with vice grips and continue to turn the nut because most of the time that it does that it pops out of the flange.
