Internet Bandwidth (speed) Explained

This is an animated video explaining internet bandwidth or speed. Bandwidth is measured in bits per second (bps). It’s a measurement of how much data is transferred over a network in 1 second.

Conversions from mbps to MB/s:
100 mbps: 12.5 MB/s
500 mbps: 62.5 MB/s
1000 mbps: 125 MB/s

Which means for instance that with a 1000 mbps connection, it would take at least 8 seconds to download a 1 GB file.
Some ISP sort of scam people by advertising their speeds as MB/s without converting from mbps.
