What Internet Speed Should You Get - Fully Explained!

I started out with an 8mb connection about 18 years ago. Once every year or two I get an email telling me changes have been made and I now have a faster connection. It's currently 300 down but usually runs closer to 350. I'm not complaining. Yes I am. I would be happy with a slower speed in exchange for a service that doesn't go out every couple months.

I never knew until I downloaded nzxt cam on my pc that my internet speeds were terrible, I had wired internet but everyone else in my house and all the consoles were on the same internet. I'm getting a router to put next to my pc because my speeds right now stay around 9 kbps up/down

I live alone and 25mb was perfectly fast 4k Netflix 4k you tube online gaming all good. The only thing that was slow was downloading games but I’d set that to download when i was sleeping so it wasn’t a big deal.

I have 500 and the internet people tell me this is the lowest amount I need?
At max usage I have 2 computers 2 phones 2 tablets and some time's a nintendo switch but 90% of the time Im just using the computer im on now but my phone and tablet and watch are connected because they are always on. When my daughter comes home she turns her phone and computer and steaming device on for netflix for about 4 hours a day. My plan is $70 but it's going up next month to $140 so I need to make sure im not getting ripped off, I have a friend who runs with just 25mbps and he games with a computer or the ps5 and streams all his content but not at the same time, I think the most I have seen what they run a tv in 1 room and the game in the other but that's more than I can do with just 25 when I had it, I went up to 75 then 100 then 150 then 300 and now 500 and last week they offered me 1, 5gb for only $20 more. I can watch 4k video at 2160/60 when im alone so there is no reason to 3x my speed,
