I understand the golf thing, getting outside away from the hospital... it's an escape to a peaceful place (completely opposite the hospital environment). I am a newly retired RN after 31 years in an incredibly busy and heavy cardiac/neuro unit. My absolute joy and love was to be outside gardening every chance I had or inside in the kitchen baking on bad weather days (not many in SoCal). So many nurses/hospital staff also spent their off days the same way. The mind, body and soul need to escape from from the hospital stress and drama...it can be so mentally, emotionally and physically draining. Being outside away from everything even for a short while charges you back up and gets you ready for the next stressful day!!

Also, doctors are incredibly competitive. They compete to get into med school, compete for residencies, compete for high paying positions and practices, they compete with their colleagues for the best car and biggest house, they compete with each other for the most elaborate vacation, they compete with their children to see whose kid is smartest (gets into the most prestigious school, specialty, etc) the list is endless....golf is just the next step in the lifelong competition of a doctor!!!😂❤

Loved your 5!!
Here are my five as an RN
1. If it HAD to get a gastrostomy tube of any type I would only get a button!! Easy to replace at home and a lot easier to take care of!’
2. I would never go through childbirth without a Level 4 NICU and IR team.
3. I would never have ANY type of cardiac procedure without having a cardiac cath/cardiovascular surgery suite in the same facility.
4. AI will never replace all of nursing, medicine.
5. I will never go to a chiropractor (either) for ANY type of manipulation on my cervical area. My Uncle died one hour after a chiropractor visit of an aneurysm.
6. Sorry had a 6th one, if you know you are continually going to need any type of IV, be it on a daily, weekly or monthly basis (especially if a caustic fluid) get a port put in.
7. Oops sorry, I had a 7th one (you know how is nurses are!) and that it be your own best advocate or bring someone you trust to be your advocate. Love your videos, as always!!

I’ll add another to the list…. If I need IV antibiotics and/or fluids for more than 48 hours, order the darn PICC line, and don’t wait until 5 pm to order it. I have tiny little veins that blow easily, and a PICC is no more invasive (and I would argue less) than being stuck 5 times by 3 different people to gain access.

I advise my young grandsons against smoking by making it relative to their lives, as in "no girl will ever kiss you bc your breath will stink". It's working so far.
Love your videos, Dr. Cellini from a retired BSN.

Why do most doctors always default to golf as a pass time? Genuinely curious.

If you were an ophthalmologist you could put "working on the weekend" or "working after 4pm" on the list too.

Did an MRI on a man in his 30’s last year that had a dissection (can’t remember if it was carotid or vertebral) and a stroke within a day or two of seeing a chiropractor 😳

Loved the video. Make the content you want to make. We like to see your progression; what a crazy change from watching your vids in residency w/ 120+ hour in house call, to now taking it on the green. If you didn’t quite feel like you’ve “made it” before, surely you’ve gotta be even a little by now. So sorry to hear about your mishap in Barcelona. Applying for DR this cycle and perhaps ESIR later on, thanks again for all the content, teaching, and motivation. Wish me luck!

I have a G tube Mic-Key (venting) and a separate J tube Mic-Key (feeding) and I hate it and like you said, it's a pain in the ass. I couldn't do GJ cause it would always migrate and coil up in the stomach (Very Painful). I have to change them out every 3 to 4 months. I hate the leaking and granulation tissue, sometimes they hurt. It sucks but unfortunately that's the only way I can get nutrition. I've been sick for 15 year and have had 268 tubes and more to come. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I agree, don't get them unless that is your only choice to survive.

I always loved watching my father (fam physician) enjoy simple things like the course, beach, etc. I know the doc life is WILD so go play golf. I don't know much about it, but do lots of that!!!! Hope you're having a good weekend, bud.

I get it about the gastro tube. Mine leaked and destroyed my nose. Now if my intestines crimp, I force down a cup of green tea and make myself heave until the clump comes up. Don't do this if you don't have opioid pain relief handy.. It will give you ten scale pain.
