For those who don’t know
Shadow was artificially created by dr eggmans grandfather to help heal eggmans cousin Maria
They had a really close bond but the government thought shadow was to dangerous and tried to destroy eggmans grandfathers lab which only killed Maria in the process and shadow was captured and sealed in a tank for 50 years (and was also forgotten) and so he is only an antagonist because of the government
