Aerospace engineer explains why wings are shaped the way they are. He explains the effects of a high aspect ratio vs. a low aspect ratio wing, the importance of wing placement, the reason behind different wing planforms and geometries, as well as the effects of adding an anhedral or dihedral angle to an aircraft's wings.

It's my first semester studying aerospace engineering and your videos are a great stepping stone to provide me with the basics of aviation. I also like that you keep trying to slip some memes into the videos :D

Super informative video my friends.
I actually learned quite a bit about the design challenges that engineer face. I'm sketching up a WIG for fun right now, and I got a lot of new ideas on how to not only make it functional, but also realistic. Thanks for the video man!

Quick notification, infact there was more then one variable-sweep wing aircraft, for example F -111 Aardvark (was introduced in USAF 6 years before F-14 Tomcat), and B1 Lancer
Like the video tho :)

Dude good stuff the only complaint has to do with your equipment it sounds like you're recording in like a bathroom or something other than that I can't wait to see your channel grow and I can say I was kind of here at the beginning for real though bruv keep it up u got something here.

Thank you for such a great explaining video. I still want to ask
1. why a high aspect ratio wing is less effective in turning when compared to low aspect ratio wing
2. Both the low aspect ratio wing and delta wing can turn well, like Mirage and f16, but why seem f16 doesn't get too much speed bleed when turning and can gain lift more easily? Shouldn't the lift be directly proportional to the wing area?

Thank you ^ ^
