My rule of thumb is easy. If you can fit your head under it, it’s a wing. If you can’t fit your head under it, it’s a spoiler. Similar to the foot test for suspension. If you can fit your foot in between your wheel and fender, go lower

Nice video! A couple questions, though. You mentioned that the spoiler slows down the air creating a high pressure zone with the gurney flap; is that also a major factor of the less agressive spoilers like the one in the 911 you showed later? and if so, is that the main source of downforce with spoilers or is Newtons' Third Law still the bigger one like with wings?

Good content there. I just have 1 question, i know that a wing dw to drag ratio is around 3, what dw to drag ratio a spoiler produces (I know its worse but i wanna know how much worse it is).

If wings increases drag then why people use it in races? Will it be helpful while cornering bcz on straights it might be disadvantageous
